Participation in an aged care specific training course could be the start of a new fulfilling career for you.
Our trainers are industry qualified and lead trainees through informative, fun and practical training developed to enable an understanding of the issues experienced by people who are ageing and/or have a disability.
Our modern facilities are purpose built and we have a dedicated fully equipped practical room to ensure that trainees have plenty of ‘hands-on’ practical experience before entering the workplace.
We are a Registered Training Organisation and deliver nationally recognised qualifications under the Australian Qualifications Training Framework. We have specialised in aged care training since 2002 and our trainees have enjoyed excellent employment prospects as a result of participating in our courses. We balance our course workload with work/family commitments.
We also provide excellent one-on-one support. So, if you want to make a difference in the lives of people in the community come and train with us.
We at The Pursuits Group are passionate about working with people from different cultures and we are developing best practice vocational training for CALD students and are seeking to be recognised within the Aged Care Industry as a leader of training students from a CALD background.
There are currently a number of State and Federal Government funding initiatives available which, if you are eligible, means that the course cost is paid for – free training in other words!
Certificate III in Aged Care (CHC30208)
Now training in Midland
Training commences on the 7th February in Kingsley and 10th February in Midland.
The Certificate III in Aged Care will prepare you for work as an aged care support worker in either a residential aged care facility or in a community care setting. It is the standard entry qualification for workers in the aged care sector and will introduce you to all aspects of a support worker’s role including personal care, well-being and assistance with daily activities.
We start a new Certificate III course every month. The course consists of 14 units (10 Compulsory and four Electives). The classroom component is conducted over eight weeks with assignments to complete in your own time at your own pace.
Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate that is nationally recognised within Australia. As part of the course you will also acquire a St John’s Senior First Aid Certificate (unit HLTFA301B).
Work Experience Placement
As part of our Certificate III in Aged Care course, we require students to undertake a two week work experience placement. The placement is designed to help students better understand what they have learned by putting it into practice in the workplace.
We are one of the few RTOs that actually find the placement for you. So rather than having to spend every spare minute filling out resumes on job sites or walking around with your resume, we have our staff do the work for you. We are please to say that 75% of our students are offered employment directly as a result of their Work Experience placement.
