Statement of Purpose
The purpose of The Pursuits Group is:
- to provide practical help and support which enables frail aged and people with disabilities to remain independent, to improve their quality of life and to delay entry into residential care
- to provide training services which are responsive to the needs of the trainees and the industry
Philosophy
The Pursuits Group believes in:
- the right of people to make choices in their own lives
- the right of people to dignity, respect, privacy and confidentiality
- the right of people to be valued as individuals
- the right of people to access services on a non-discriminatory basis
- the right of people to receive training that is appropriate and meaningful
Outcomes
The outcomes pursued by The Pursuits Group are:
- that people who are frail aged or disabled can remain in their own home for as long as is practicable
- that family, primary caregivers and their social network are supported in their role
- that the agency operates in an effective, efficient and accountable manner
